Hello there!

Welcome to my fundraising page! This is Anna Jo coming at you from The University of Texas at Austin. I am currently a second year Theater major and I am also pursuing a minor in Entreprenuership. I am an intern at Longhorns for Christ this year and I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to go on a mission with Let's Start Talking this summer. Our team, as seen on the right, consists of two of my very close friends here in Austin: Leo, a senior Public Health major and fellow intern at Longhorns for Christ, and his sister Diana, a 2022 UT graduate who currently works in medical imaging. 

What is Let's Start Talking?

LST’s goal isn’t just to send people on mission trips. The goal is to serve the long-term work of mission sites by being a partner. LST projects support this long-term work of mission sites by sending well-prepared teams who focus on one task – building bridges into the community through English conversation practice. We'll be connecting with people right from the community of the hosting mission church and helping them practice English by utilizing the LST approach and materials. I can't wait to start my LST journey, but I can't do it without your help.

As I prepare for this life-changing experience, I am reaching out to family, friends, and supporters like you to invite you to partner in this work with me. Please be praying for me and my team in the coming months. My cost for this mission is $4,400 to cover travel, meals, and the necessary resources for the work we will be doing and your support is crucial! Your contribution will play a vital role in enabling me to participate and more importantly, help spread the hope and love of Jesus Christ.

Let's Start Talking equips Christians to create life-changing conversations across the street and around the world. Taking advantage of the global desire for English as well as the innate desire we all share for connection and community, LST Workers offer English-conversation practice in a comfortable, non-confrontational setting.  Scripture forms the basis of each conversation, and friendships surface naturally.  

To participate in a mission project this year I have committed to raise funds for LST. This money is used to fund the recruiting, development, and support of all LST team members, as well as travel and project costs. Please give generously today and be a part of my team!
