Hey there!
My name is Caleb Reeves, affectionately nicknamed Cal by many, and I'm a 21 year old college student on staff with Renew College Ministry at Arkansas Tech. I grew up in Christianity, but faith was often communicated as legalism rather than love to me. As I came into college, I was radically transformed by not only finding a personal relationship and faith through loving Jesus in my young adulthood but also the unique community of college ministry that creates space for people in the same age and stage of life to explore faith safely and do it together.
In that time I have been a part of two different college ministries - Chi Alpha and currently Renew - as a student leader and have gotten to be a part of several students' lives as they find faith. It's been life-changing to see God move through simple people and simple things.
What is LST, and why give to this?
Abbreviated for "Let's Start Talking," LST is a foreign missions organization that has been sending students and others alike all around the world for over 40 years in the effort to teach people in foreign countries conversational English via one-on-one Bible readings. With a focus on friendship, faith, and conversation, the name of Jesus is shared and discussed with those not familiar or distant to the idea of the Gospel.
Myself and three other students will be going through the book of Luke with individuals in Joao Pessoa, Brazil from May 16th to June 30th - 6 weeks!
To believe that myself and my friends can extend our experience of discipleship so easily and practically by partnering with LST to go overseas is remarkable and nothing short of a dream come true. Yes, of course, dreams need support to become realilty, and that is where you can be a part of something remarkably large via a simple and small donation. To give to LST is to give to the Kingdom of God coming to earth as we carry out what Jesus has outlined in the Great Comission, to go into all the earth and make disciples.
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, 'How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!'
So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ."

Let's Start Talking equips Christians to create life-changing conversations across the street and around the world. Taking advantage of the global desire for English as well as the innate desire we all share for connection and community, LST Workers offer English-conversation practice in a comfortable, non-confrontational setting. Scripture forms the basis of each conversation, and friendships surface naturally.
To participate in a mission project this year I have committed to raise funds for LST.
