Welcome!

Every year hundreds of people just like you utilize Let’s Start Talking (LST) to serve and share their faith in local settings, online, or even internationally.  We’re thankful for the opportunity to serve you! Regardless of where you plan on using the LST approach and materials, we all share the same goal- sharing Jesus and sharing ourselves. 

For clarity, here are some designations and terms LST uses frequently: 

• FriendSpeak – Using the LST approach in a local setting (typically in North America); community outreach led by a church, campus ministry, or other Christian group. 

• LST Connect – Using the LST approach online with LST-provided Readers. 

• LST International Projects – Using the LST approach on an LST-managed mission trip. 

• LST Workers - People like you; LST's Christian participant volunteers.

• LST Readers - The international friends we're serving.

So that we know best how to serve you, please take a moment to fill out his brief registration form. 

On the next two pages you’ll find the following: 

• LST’s general expectations for participants. 

• A place for you to indicate the primary reason you’re registering today (Pick just one for now. We hope later you might like to be involved in other LST-related opportunities!).

• A request for basic contact information from you. 

• A spot to donate. LST asks the following to consider a donation:

  • NEW LST Connect Workers (a one-time $55 donation to help provide the program free of charge for Readers).

  • FriendSpeak Workers whose church has not purchased a Training Package (and thus, who are paying $55 per-person for training).

  • Others - Workers using LST training for other contexts ($55/person).

One of our guiding principles at LST is that the WORD is the teacher and WE are the illustration. The way we speak, act, and even think becomes a powerful part of the way God brings people into a right relationship with Him and all of his good creation.

To help us all maintain excellence in the way we serve our Readers, we hold the following expectations and commitments for all LST Workers.

1. I will fulfill the core requirements for Workers.

• I affirm that I speak English as my primary language.
• I have read and agree to work within LST’s statement of faith.
• I am 18 years or older (if not, please contact us about ways to participate in LST).
• I will fulfill all training requirements.

2. I will act in ways that honor God.

• I will maintain a professional, friendly, and non-confrontational presence with my Reader, being thoughtful about how I appear to them during our sessions and the messages they are exposed to when we meet..
• I will refrain from profanity, inappropriate language, sharing sexually explicit material, using alcohol/drugs/tobacco or any other harmful substance in front of my Reader, or any other activity which might diminish my witness for Christ.
• I will not be involved romantically with my Reader.
• I understand that my Reader may not hold to the same ethical standards I do, may or may not be Christian, nor seek to follow these same expectations and commitments. I will contact LST or local LST representatives with any problems or concerns.

3. I will respect the boundaries of privacy with my Reader.

• If my Reader needs counseling or other professional help, I will encourage them to connect with an appropriately trained individual or organization and I will notify LST or local LST representatives of the situation.
• I will not share my private information with my Reader. I recognize the difference between sharing personal information (such as hobbies and skills) and private information (such as birthdate and full address).
• I will not post information about my Reader or their image anywhere without their permission.

We want every participant to have an excellent experience and to approach their conversation sessions confidently. Training is therefore a high priority! LST asks every Worker to attend an online workshop called "Basic Training" in which we cover the core principles of the LST philosophy and methodology. After you register as a Worker we'll send you information about the easiest way to get that training.

If you want an online Reader provided by LST: What days are you most likely available to do LST Connect sessions? Most LST Connect Workers meet once a week for an hour, though it will be up to you and your Reader to decide how often to meet. We'll match you with a Reader who has the same days available as you. 

Once you click "Submit" below LST will receive your completed registration. Please check your email for a confirmation message with your next-steps. If you do not receive a confirmation email, your registration did not submit.
